50GB PS4 games will take up to 50 hours to download (let's hope they're worth the wait). The site estimated various download times for a typical 50GB PS4 title, and users with a 2Mbps connection could be faced with a download time of 55 hours. DELUXE EDITION. Just exactly how long is Spider-Man on PS4? Insomniac Games has provided plenty of content and is planning more in the future.
I have tried Google to answer this question to no avail. I have read about people who have updated and installed up to 7 games at once and it only taking them 15 minutes. My question is, is there a reason that it is going to be another 5 hours before 'Outlast' finishes downloading? Or a reason it took me over 8 hours to download DC Universe online? Even the Blacklight: Retribution took me about 5 hours to download. Do I simply have a slower PS4 or internet connection? Or does it take everyone this long?
On a 100mbs connection how long would it take to download the average PS4 game?
How To Download Ps4 Game Updates
Assuming you get that full 100Mbps connection the whole entire time...
I'll say 35GB is the average PS4 game.
35GB/100Mbps=46.7 minutes.
Again, assuming you actually get full download speed. The whole time. Download game minecraft pc offline free pc.
Usually takes me about 35-40 mins

First of all this not entirely accurate. The math is correct but other factors fall into the equation. It doesn't matter how fast his DL speed is. It has everything to due with Sony servers. Which can be laggy at time. I would just purchase the retail copy for anything over 20 GB in size.
Thanks,

Oh well that could be a problem then lol
I share the connection with three wifi devices and a wired PC. My internet also comes off of a tower.

FreshRevengeWell ya see, I get my games from PS and rarely get my own copies of games unless its like GTA or something.

Yes I see that. I wasn't trying to sound like I was belittling you with my statement. I just know from experience that even with a fast internet speed, DL is slower. However I noticed that downloading PS4 games are slightly faster than the downloading PS3 games. Maybe the system is an another factor in dl speeds.
Thanks,

It's going to be a while before you start seeing big PS4 titles up for download through the PSN for free or at a discount for PS members. Sony was able to do this with the PS3 pretty quickly because PS was unveiled later in it's life. As of now, Sony will likely stick to giving away PSN titles to PS members on the PS4. I expect getting Killzone or Knack around this time next year. The best way of getting PS4 games, at a discounted price, is through the old fashioned way: go get the disc. That's also the best tactic if you have a slow internet connection. I'm on a 10Mbps connection (usually connect at a steady 12Mbps except between 5:00 PM and 6:30 PM, it slows down to 8Mbps then) with a low ping time (1-2 ms). It's fine for streaming 'Super HD' content from Netflix along with 5.1 Dolby Digital audio. It's also fine for online gaming but I wouldn't buy a big game off of the PSN.
It would take my PS4 over 7 hours to download a 35GB game, that seems to be a pretty common size for games. Even with my current condition (broken ankle, I'm held up at home for the next 4 weeks), it would be faster for me to wait for my girlfriend to get home and take me to the nearest store than it would be for me to start a download at 7:00 AM and expect to play it later in the day. It's really convenient for people with much faster connections. I would probably switch to an all digital way of obtaining games if I had a 50Mbps connection while I'm held up at home but, seeing as how that would cost me over $150 a month, I'm fine with discs. Even if I had a 50Mbps connection, I would stick with discs if I werent injured.
- U can play while it's downloading. Ac4 actually downloaded as 3 different parts. SP was ready to play fast. Then multiplayer and the Aveline content. The latter 2 showed percentages from the main menu in the game. Prolly coulda started those even and it would focus on the mode I was playing.

I wonder if it will do that with Resogun.
I know that large of a game would probably take most of the night if I started it when I went to bed at 9:00. Wake up at 10 and it might be done or close. Soul sacrifice got done in the middle of the night.

Took about 20minutes to download and install contrast off psn, funny thing is there was no option to play as it downloaded?
weird.
I dont know how big that game is, but I doubt its 30GB, more like 2GB or so.

FreshRevengeSweet so my dial up connection will get faster then is possible when downloading from PSN!!

FreshRevengeOh and my internet speed is around 3MB/s which equals about 24mb/s, I can get this speed when downloading off ps3 psn, but obviously not for every single game as many are hosted by the game devs, not sony.
I just got MLB16 and I waited 2 hours for it to download and it's been 3 hours and I'm only 11.013GB/42.623GB so big games like MLB16 take forever if you get it you should by a cd of MLB16 I don't think it takes as long
Wrong. MLB 16 dosen't come on a CD, it's a DVD.
- My 3.4 Mbps

a couple of hours.. I'm mostly digital for the PS4 generation. I've downloaded Dragon Age: Inquistion and Witcher 3 both in under 2.5 hours .. Keep in mind these are two of the biggest PS4 games in terms of size (roughly 40-50GBs)
- I downloaded battleborn beta in 15 min
I just deleted the witcher and am downloading it right now. I won't mess with the download at all, even though when the dl slows to a standstill I won't pause and start the download so to speed it up.

I'm scared to put my PS4 in rest mode. I've done it 1 time to see if it would break my system or not but i'm scared to use that and stay far away from it! I know they patched it but still....
Not long, usually. Especially if you have a good network connection. Now the game updates (that start shortly after your new game starts installing) can take much much longer. Because some updates are 2-5gb plus in size.
..Oh wow, I just realized this is an old thread and that I shouldn't have replied to it. Well, we'll see if the mods lock it.
- Ya i have the disc for gta5 and its downloading at one megabyte a second.. again 1mbps. It's a hard copy why is it an estimated 3 hours? This makes no sense.
